How to quickly write great ad copy with ChatGPT

Writing ads doesn’t need to be a struggle. With ChatGPT, it becomes quick and easy.

Here’s exactly how to do it:

  • Clearly define your business type, location, and service.

  • Tell ChatGPT the exact character limits (including spaces) for each field:

  • Headlines: 30 characters

  • Descriptions: 90 characters

  • Callouts: 25 characters

The better your instructions (your “prompt”), the better ChatGPT’s output will be. Doing this right can save you time and create ads that outperform generic copy.

Using images in your Google Ads

Ads with images get more attention. And you don’t need to overcomplicate it.

  • Use clear photos of your vehicles or services whenever possible.

  • Don’t have good photos? Use Google’s AI image generator that’s available during the ad setup process.

  • ChatGPT can also produce images very quickly.

The bottom line: images matter. Use what you have, or create new ones with AI. But don’t do nothing.

"Ad extensions" that boost your results

Google Ads have powerful “extensions” that greatly improve your visibility and click-through-rates.

Use them strategically. Here’s how I want you to think about these…

Site Links (the mini-ads under your main ad):

  • Don’t use generic links like “About Us” or “Fleet”

  • Do highlight specific benefits. For example:

  • “24/7 Customer Service.”

  • “Never wait on hold. Instant help when you need it.”

  • Callouts (short, attention-grabbing phrases):

  • Example: “No Hidden Fees,” “Instant Quotes,” or “Luxury Guaranteed.”

  • Structured Snippets (highlight specific offerings):

  • Choose “Types” or “Service Catalog”

  • Examples:

  • Luxury limo service

  • Luxury car service

  • Premium sprinters

Include amenities that differentiate you, like “Complimentary water and snacks.”

Bottom line

Here’s the deal: if your ads sound exactly like everyone else, they won’t perform well.

Google rewards creativity. Resist the urge to copy competitors (chances are, they aren’t doing things at a high-level anyway).

Instead, leverage the amazing AI tools you have at your disposal to quickly execute the “doing” part. And invest your time into thinking strategically.
