Price is the Most Important Factor for Getting New Clients

Most operators think success online comes down to having a fancy website or flashy vehicles.

But in reality, when someone lands on your booking page for the first time, all they care about is:

“Can I trust you? And is your price fair?”

The truth about price sensitivity online

When it comes to new clients, price matters more than anything else. Full stop.

If you’re relying solely on your website to close a booking, you’re essentially in a digital cage match lol… and the only weapons you have are your price and your online reputation.

You can’t charm them on the phone. You can’t show off your service in-person.

If your pricing isn’t competitive, it doesn’t matter how beautiful your site is, or what your fleet looks like. You’ll lose the booking every time.

But there’s hope.

If your reputation is strong (Google reviews, Yelp, WeddingWire, etc.), you can often charge 10–20% more and still win their business.

How? You have to show that proof clearly.

It’s gotta be front and center.

How to use social proof the right way

Here’s where most operators miss the mark.

When someone’s about to fill out your booking form, that’s your moment to prove you’re worth it.

Put your 5-star Google rating right next to the form.

Show Yelp badges, Facebook stars, and TripAdvisor logos.

And don’t just list reviews… pick the best story-driven ones.

The kind where something went wrong, but your team made it right.

Because to a potential client, that says:

“Even when things go wrong, these guys show up and take care of me.”

That’s what wins trust. And bookings.

Why first-time incentives work

Ken Lucci, from Driving Transactions, said it best:

“In this digital age, it’s extremely difficult to create value online. You’ve got to give them a reason to try you.”

A simple “First Ride Discount” or “10% Off Your First Online Booking” can be the edge that pushes a new lead to act.

And it’s not about losing money or margin on that trip.

It’s about gaining trust and a repeat customer.

Combine that incentive with strong social proof, and you’ll crush with online bookings.

The real reason most operators struggle with profit

Let’s zoom out for a second…

Here’s where most operators are at…

They know how to deliver luxury service, but they’re not managing the business by the numbers.

Remember this: 80% of business failures in this industry have nothing to do with poor service. They fail because owners don’t manage their financial statements.

If your accountant only hands you a profit-and-loss sheet at tax time, you’re likely behind.

You should be reviewing a cost-of-goods-based P&L every month.

That’s what tells you:

  • Are your costs under control?

  • Are your margins where they need to be (40%+)?

  • Are you paying yourself what you’re worth?

The data doesn’t lie, and neither do the results.

Bottom line: Keep delivering your amazing service, but never neglect the fundamentals of your…

  • Pricing

  • Showcasing your clients’ experiences to prospects

  • Your margins on a monthly basis
