Why Bad Leads Are Becoming Less Common

Today we're talking about how limo companies are using Google Ads’ new targeting features and consistent CRM updates to avoid bad leads, win better clients, and never negotiate on price.

The Old Way vs. The New Way

Until recently, Google Ads for limo companies worked on just two things:

  1. What someone typed into Google

  2. Where they were located

That meant two people could search “limo service to MCO” — one a long-time black car client, the other someone who’s never booked before and has no idea what to expect regarding price… and Google would serve both of them your ad.

You and I both know which of the two leads is likely to book and which one is going to ask, “Why are you so much more expensive than Uber…?”

But does Google?

Well, they do now. (As long as you tell them.)

Google can learn who your ideal clients are based on actual lead and booking data you send back from your CRM. Over time, it starts avoiding the tire kickers and instead focusing on the people who value your service and want to book fast.

An Operator's Secret Weapon

My most successful clients do one thing better than almost anyone: they consistently update their CRM with whether a lead was quoted, booked, what they paid, etc.

It kickstarts a feedback loop that trains their Google Ads account to find more of the right people and fewer of the wrong ones.

Jackpot? I think so.

Over time, it cuts down on wasted clicks and improves lead quality.

Why Knowing Your Worth Pays

My best clients also know to NOT negotiate.

If a prospect says they found a cheaper rate, it’s best to politely decline:

“I’m glad to hear you found a good fit. Have a nice day.”

No emotion. No back-and-forth. Just confidence in your value.

My best clients are aware that some “competitors” are brokers who don’t own a single vehicle… or worse, use overseas call centers looking to skim commissions.

Standing firm on price not only protects your margins, it reinforces your brand as a premium, trusted service.

The Power of the Owner’s Touch

Let’s use my client, Ken, as an example…

When someone calls Donovan’s Limo, they often get Ken himself.

And when those callers see the dozens of five-star reviews mentioning Ken by name, they already feel confident they’ll be taken care of.

You’re in control of your own customer service. So make it damn good. And it will pay dividends, because your reviews last forever.

Bottom line

Consistent CRM updates (and sending that data to Google) + refusing to negotiate + showing personal care = better leads, stronger brand, and a more profitable business.

Keep it simple. And be consistent.

Here’s a video where I discuss it all with Ken from Donovan’s Limousine:
