Most operators throw money at ads and hope something sticks.
“Let’s just scale everything,” they think...
But here’s the truth. Your ad budget shouldn’t be spread evenly.
The smartest operators know exactly which vehicles deserve the most attention.

Why most operators waste ad dollars
When I ask new clients where they want to allocate their Google Ads budget, 9 out of 10 say the same thing:
“More of everything.”
That sounds good… but it’s an unrealistic answer.
Instead of throwing money across every campaign, you should start with a simple question:
Which of my vehicles have the highest profit margins?
Because that’s where your ad dollars will deliver the best ROI.

How to identify your most profitable vehicles
In most cases, the highest-margin vehicles are also your most expensive ones:
-
Stretch limos
-
Party buses
-
Larger luxury vehicles
They have the biggest markups, but here’s the catch… They’re also weekend vehicles.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday. That’s when they typically move.
So if you’re already booked every weekend, pouring more ad spend into them is kinda like lighting money on fire.

The 12-week booking rule
Look at your next 12 weeks.
How many Friday and Saturday nights are free for each vehicle type?
If your stretch limos and party buses are already booked solid, pull back your budget on those.
Instead, shift your focus to vehicles that still have availability.
Like sprinters, sedans, or SUVs.
The goal is simple: only advertise what you can actually sell.

When to pause ads (and why it's smart)
If half of your leads are asking for Saturday nights you can’t service, you’re wasting half your ad budget.
Your cost per lead doubles, and your client acquisition cost skyrockets.
So during busy seasons, it might actually make sense to pause campaigns for sold-out vehicles and reallocate that budget to categories with room left.
You’ll instantly improve ROI without spending a dollar more.
Final thought:
Before you set next month’s ad budget, take 30 minutes to run this thought exercise:
Which vehicles bring the most profit?
Which have open availability?
Which give me consistent, year-round demand?
Don’t just divide ad spend equally. Think strategically, spend wisely, and watch your ROI climb.
